This morning the lakeside jetty was reported to be underwater at 09:00hrs. However, due to the thoughtful design of the weir at the end of the lake the higher the water level the more water is allowed to escape, thus the water level drops exponentially quickly. Genius! At 13:30hrs I was at the lake and the jetty was high and dry, there was a gentle breeze, Sun and 17deg C.
What a shame then the racing was cancelled so prematurely to allegedly prevent the members a wasted journey. On the contrary I would suggest it was a wasted afternoon of enjoyable racing.
